What to do / where to go in Santiago

Hello!, today I am going to write about Santiago and some places that you can visit.

If you do not know, Santiago is the Chile's capital and it has many interesting places in wich you can enjoy of a good experience (if you are a tourist) or that you should know if you live in this city.

First you should visit the San Cristobal hill. This is a typical place where there are different places to pass a good moment, for example you can enjoy of a peak tram ride to the virgin or just walking up the path until there. There are two paths to go up there but one of them is a little dangerous, and when you are walking through, you can see the city and the nature of the hill. When you are on top, you can look at the city with a binocular (but you must pay) or, if you want, board the cable car. In the hill is also the National zoo, where you can enjoy watching the differents animals that are there.

You can also visit Fantasilandia, this is an amusement park where you can live extreme experiences in "attractions" like Tagada, Top Spin, Kamikaze, Evolution or in the roller coasters. This is in the O'Higgins park where you can go at the afternoon to take a walk with your boyfriend or girlfriend or with your family. Near here is the Club Hípico, where you can see the horses races and enjoy of a fascinating experience with your family, you can also enjoy of a barbacue because there are special places with grills for the persons that want to eate while they see the races.

Near September you can visit the big variety of circus that arrive to the city (obviously you can visit one of them in another months), the most typical circus is "Los Tachuelas". It is always on Gral. Velasquez avenue with Alameda avenue. You can go there and enjoy with their clowns.

I choose this places because I like them and I think that everyone has something special and different things to do with your family, friends, boyfriend or girlfriend. There are others places to visit but I recommend these.

I hope you enjoy visiting some of this places.

Bye.

THE ROLE OF MUSIC

Hello everybody, today I want to talk you about something very important in my life: the music. I think if in my life the music did not exist, I do not know what I would do because the music is present all the time, I mean sometimes I am listening to music or I am singing in the halls of the university or I am singing when I am going home or when I am in home I sing some karaokes to relax or just is in my mind. I think that the music fills my life in every way: I enjoy it, I remember things with it, it is always with me, I recognize myself with some songs.

I like to listen to rock, any kind of rock: alternative, chilean, pop, punk. Sometimes I like to listen to romantic music or soundtracks of movies, but generally I am always listening to differents kinds of music.

I get my music from the internet I look for it in some pages where I can download the albums or songs that I want and sometimes I buy the cd's in Feria del Disco (only when I have money, because here is very expensive to buy the cd's).

I follow a lot of groups and singers, the first of all is The Strokes because is my favourite group ever, then are the rest: De Saloon, Javiera Parra, Javiera Mena, The distillers, Supernova, Britney Spears, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Golem, Maroon 5, Los tres, among others. I feeel happy when I hear them, and I know all the songs of some groups, and when I am in home I like to listen to music very loud, the good thing is that my mother does not get angry when I do that. I hear the different kind of music with no special moment I feel the same way with it when I study, when I am happy or sad, when I am with my friends or when I am walking in the street.

Transantiago, before and after

This is an interesting topic, because I think that the people do not accept Transantiago yet, but in my opinion I like it in some ways because I like to travel by bus to see all the things that the people do in the street and I know that in Transantiago I have time to do this.

If I compare the pre-Transantiago system with Transantiago system, I find some diferences. In one way before the Transantiago, the yellow buses were more interactives, because they had colors, curtains, stickers, and sometimes the buses had names, and that were atractive (for me) because were a kind of entertainment to recognize the buses or in the course of the travel, but now in Transantiago there are not nothing of this. The pre-Transantiago system had a problem that now with the Transantiago does not exist: "the bad mood of the drivers an the competition for who took more passengers", that is a good thing because before the yellow buses had more accidents than now, an this give us (the users) more security.

When Transantiago started -two an half years ago- there was difficult for me to adapt myself to take two or three buses to reach my destination and sometimes take buses and the subway. Now I can move around Santiago with no problem because I learned how to use the system efficiently, and the best is that I only pay once and I can take differents buses without spend two hours.
I do not know what kind of changes needs Transantiago to be better, but I thing that the users have to learn about how this system works and how to use it, and obviously that the people would have to be more patients, and everything will be more easy for everyone (drivers and users).
